Of the highest rarity and great importance
Lot 543
KINGS OF ARMENIA MINOR. Mithradates, circa 180s-170s BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 12 mm, 1.42 g, 2 h). Draped bearded bust of Mithradates to left, wearing upright bashlyk. Rev. Uncertain design. Kovacs -, cf. Leu 4 (2019), 360. Of the highest rarity and great importance. Spot of corrosion on the obverse and the reverse very weak, otherwise, very fine.

From an important collection of Armenian coins.

The reverse of this coin is very weak: it might be identical to Leu 4, 25 May 2019, 360, but it is hard to be sure. For a longer note on Mithradates, Satrap of Armenia, see Leu 4, 25 May 2019, 358.
